dusk x dawn
why is dawn coming so soon?
is it regretting what night has done?
please, don’t give sunshine too soon,
i still want to be someone.
oh no, my ideas are fading,
my senses are dead,
my soul is starving and my life is ending.
i am tired, i am just anybody.
flickering, stuttering, out of reach and out of date.
please, let now be five!
make dusk linger for a while.
then give back night,
with comforting lights,
pull me out and hide me inside,
where the world is not watching me,
where everyone isn’t me,
where i can be me,
and i will not let myself go again.
